Provision Standardized Channels on Demand with Channel Templates
Repeatable collaboration means a team reuses a proven structure instead of rebuilding it from scratch — and that principle doesn’t stop at the whole-team level, it applies just as much to a single channel. Every new deal or project still needs the same files and folders, the same Planner board, the same Lists and OneNote pages, and today someone has to recreate that setup by hand each time, so it drifts a little more with every copy. Channel Templates lets a catalog manager define that structure once, so end-users can provision a fully-built channel from the catalog in one action instead of assembling it themselves. Channel Templates is generally available.
What’s new
- Catalog managers define reusable channel templates: files and folders, a Planner board, Lists, and OneNote pages, bundled as one structure.
- End-users provision a new channel directly from the catalog, inside the nBold Teams tab — no separate tool, no manual setup.
- Every channel created from a template starts identical: same folders, same board, same lists, every time.
Same files, board, lists and notebook in every channel — only the name changes, and even that follows the convention.

Channel is now a template type of its own, next to Microsoft Teams and SharePoint.
Why it matters
Channel-level consistency is where a lot of governance actually breaks down — teams get created from a template, but the channels inside them get rebuilt ad hoc for every deal or project, and each one is a little different from the last. Channel Templates closes that gap: publish the structure once, and every channel provisioned from it inherits it exactly, whether it’s the fifth deal room this month or the fiftieth.
Channel Templates is generally available to all nBold customers. Open your catalog to publish your first channel template, or talk to your nBold contact if you’d like help designing one.
